graduated.

On a random Tuesday, at 7:34 pm, we graduated. After two years of being in the same grade, after three years of high school, and a few months of limbo, we graduated. The world went to hell and so did our last year of school, but we made it. The batch of 2021.

Sure we missed classes, our friends, waking up midway into a class with the teacher glaring at you, trying to lip read the answer off your friend trying desperately to save you from major embarrassment. Sure, we missed walking down the corridors, heads buried in books, drowning in notes and sample papers, the nervous anticipation of having your prelim marks read out to the entire class, the jokes you made after, cheering up that one friend who's parents are gonna kill them.
Sure, we missed the few seconds of relief between classes and the walk from school to the tuition centers, the random frankies and ice creams, waffles.
The batch of 2021.

We made it through a crazy upside down year, and it still hasn't ended. We've lost moments, people, privileges and our sanity. We're a generation that don't know what's gonna happen tomorrow. We don't know if the jobs we're training for will even exist when we graduate. We're a generation of start ups, inclusion and emojis. We make our paths, we don't just follow them. When we need something done, we make it happen. We're dumb and we don't care. We cope with music, overthink everything, every second of our lives is somewhere on the Internet, we're messed up, but we know that.
Yet we made it, we graduated.

We're the batch of 2021.
